Our client, a well-run, well-capitalized, rapidly growing community bank, is looking to immediately add a VP Assistant Controller to their staff in what we would consider to be a high energy, fast paced, collaborative environment. This bank has been on an incredible growth trajectory and will be a force to be reckoned with. From the top down, the game plan is strong, the vision is there, the work has been hard, but as they incrementally roll out their vision and add strategically add staff, the positive momentum continues to snowball. That’s why this newly created position is so critical.
Our client, has entrusted us with the opportunity to surface a strong Assistant Controller with a CPA, strong US GAAP Accounting Skills, ability to do technical accounting research (research, interpret & apply), handle oversight of operational accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets, correspondent accounts, and numerous other duties as assigned within the department (read: Jack of all trades.). In this role you will be wearing multiple hats. You will be part General Accounting Manager, SEC Reporting Manager, Regulatory Reporting Manager, and accounting policy guru. Having expertise in these areas is important from an oversight perspective, especially past experiences with 10K’s and 10Q’s is key. Being a self-starter, with the ability to think on your feet, and work autonomously is very important in this role. The team is humble, but very talented, so someone with not only drive, but excellent mentoring skills to continue to develop the team as they grow is important as well. If you have been exposed to these key accounting items within a banking environment and have been considering a strategic move out of public accounting or into larger role at a high performing bank, we would like to speak with you.
