Director of External Reporting

If you are a banking professional with a CPA accreditation, audit background, and an affinity for all things ‘reporting’ (SEC, Regulatory, Board Reports, Management Reports, etc.) we may have the perfect opportunity for you.   MR Dominion is an affiliate of Management Recruiters International.  We specialize in the banking ‘vertical’, primarily working with $0 to $20B banks nationwide.  Our focus is placing top performers within Accounting & Finance – primarily CFO’s, Chief Accounting Officers, Controllers, Treasurers, Asset & Liability Managers, and Portfolio Managers nationwide.

Our client is a growing institution, is publicly traded, and is in need of a Director of External Reporting working on 10K’s, 10Q’s 8Ks, Regulatory Reporting, and various management reporting outputs.  Being a publicly traded entity the main part of the role would be to manage all activities related to the preparation of the banks audited financial statements.  You will also review and test various compiled reports and summaries used in the calculation of important estimates (i.e. ALLL calculations and income tax provisions) and propose procedural changes that will improve the efficiency and accuracy of ongoing data gathering throughout the institution.  This will be accomplished by compiling an SEC and GAAP disclosure checklist and working directly with the Corporate Controller to make sure the reports are pristine.  You will participate in the review of month end close, identify variances, and various other special projects will come as assigned including validating data submission to third party providers for information reports (ALCO for example) and provide review of the report to validate results.  Other interesting special projects will come as assigned as you peel those projects off the desk of the Corporate Controller.

As new accounting pronouncements come down the pike, you will evaluate the reporting control implications of new accounting and reporting guidelines and you will provide internal recommendations to make sure structures are in place going forward to support the new reporting implications.

This is a solid institution with a smart group of accounting professionals.  Our firm has worked with this bank for the past five years and the Controller has a reputation for being a great coach and mentor.  This is tremendous role that will put your career on a whole new trajectory.

Interested?  Due to being an SEC Registrant, they will only consider folks that have been doing this role at at a publicly traded bank, or a Manager in Public Accounting that has audited financial statements.  Please apply in confidence today.  This is a critical role and they are looking to move quickly for the right individual that possesses both the technical attributes and the personality to fit in well with their team and collaborate well with others.
