Supervisor of Financial Controls
Our Client– is a publicly traded bank in the Arizona Market. They have a national charter and thus a multi-state footprint that is only going to continue to expand. Their current Board and the CEO and CFO are very tenured and have been recognized as strong leaders with a calculated, conservative approach. This conservative approach has paid dividends as they have seen significant growth over the last several years. Suffice it to say, this bank is very well positioned and poised to move to the next level and are now looking to add a Supervisor over Financial Controls to their team. Our client has mapped out some very aggressive growth plans as other banks continue to struggle in this difficult banking environment. These guys are ‘getting it done.’ You couldn’t pick a better time to join this organization as they continue to thoughtfully grow and expand.
Opportunity – Working under the direction of the Associate Director of the Financial Controls group, you will assist in the planning, execution and delivery on financial internal control test work in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act and FDICIA requirements (together “ICOFR”). You will work on multiple audit assignments or projects within the bank and may participate with overseeing and/or supervising less experienced auditors during these assignments. You will help oversee the team in evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of processes and internal controls for adherence to ICOFR requirements. You will further assist with identifying root causes of issues to strengthen and/or improve controls. This position will be the right hand to the Associate Director over the group and may have opportunities for additional special projects and assignments.
What we are looking for in a candidate– We need a good communicator (both written and oral) that has strong interpersonal skills in order to work with all levels of management. It’s important this position not only be well versed in the knowledge as it relates to auditing Financial Controls within the Financial Services Industry but be equally strong in articulating this understanding to staff members and senior members within the bank. We need a critical thinker that has the ability and confidence to deal with and solve complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. The ideal candidate will have served as an Auditor or Senior Auditor capacity within the Financial Services practice of one of the Public Accounting Firms for 5+ years and be looking for that next level of progression and responsibility within their career. This candidate will have experience with the testing of ICOFR processes. A CIA or CPA is preferred but not necessary for the right experience. We may consider a Bank’s Internal Auditor but they must have strong Financial Controls experience related to IFOCR processes and the ability to work and communicate findings at a high level.
This is a big job, but a fun job. You will be rewarded financially but also in exposure and long-term promotional opportunity. If you have ICOFR Audit Experience within Financial Services, let's talk. This is a great bank.
