SVP - Corporate Controller

Our firm has been engaged on the Corporate Controller search for a healthy, Texas-Based Community Bank.  If you are a Banking professional with a minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in a bank setting as an Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, or Public Accounting Audit Manager, this could be a tremendous springboard opportunity for you to help move your career forward.

Our client, is a rapidly growing community bank, has been partnering with our firm for the last several years and is looking to add a Corporate Controller to their staff in what is a fast-paced, high-growth organization.   This bank has been on a solid growth trajectory and is starting to show up on people’s radars.  The leadership team is tenured, the Accounting & Finance team is strong, they are very cohesive, tight-knit, the work has been fast paced, and as they execute on their strategic plan, and selectively add staff, the opportunities continue to present themselves.  It’s a fun group that works hard, but has a lot of fun doing it.  The rapid growth of this bank is why this newly created position is so critical.

They are looking for a strong Corporate Controller, preferably with a CPA accreditation, banking experience is a must (either being within a bank or in public accounting auditing the banking industry), strong controls experience (SOX 404), ability to do technical accounting research (research, interpret & apply), handle oversight of operational accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets, correspondent accounts, and numerous other duties as assigned within the department.  In this role you will be wearing multiple hats.  You will be part General Accounting Manager, Regulatory Reporting Manager, and accounting policy guru.  Having expertise in these areas is important from an oversight perspective, especially past experiences with either internal controls (SOX 404) or 10K’s and 10Q’s is key.  Being a self-starter, with the ability to think on your feet, and work autonomously is very important in this role.  They need someone driven that will make educated decisions and not need a lot of hand holding.  The team is humble, but very talented, so someone with not only the drive, but excellent mentoring skills to continue to develop the team as they grow is important as well.   If you have been exposed to these key accounting items within a banking environment and have been considering a strategic move out of public accounting or into larger role at a high performing bank, we would like to speak with you.

For someone that performs well in this role, long-term career opportunities await, along with opportunities as the organization continues to grow.  This is truly a ground floor opportunity.  A CPA, public accounting, and banking expertise is highly desired.  Banking experience is a must in order to be considered for this role.  Our client is looking to move quickly, please inquire confidentially today!
